Established in 1980, the East Texas Oil Museum at Kilgore College preserves and celebrates the rich history of the East Texas Oil Boom and the people who shaped it. Through immersive exhibits, authentic artifacts, oral histories, and historical documents, the museum honors the independent oil producers, wildcatters, and communities whose determination and entrepreneurial spirit led to the discovery and development of the East Texas Oil Field. Today, the museum continues to educate and inspire visitors by bringing the story of East Texas in the 1930s to life for future generations.
